Key Treatment
IMMUNOLOGY / INFECTIOUS DISEASES
Immunoglobulin (IgG) is a protein that plays a crucial role in the immune system by recognizing and binding to foreign substances like bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. IgG is the most abundant type of antibody in the body and is produced by plasma cells in response to exposure to foreign antigens.
The body’s capacity to produce IgG and other immunological components is reduced or compromised in people with primary or secondary immunodeficiencies, making them more susceptible to infections. Our ProGlob therapy may be applied in these situations to strengthen the body’s inherent immune systems and offer passive immunity.
HEPATOLOGY / INTENSIVE CARE
Albumin is a protein that is synthesized in the liver and is important for maintaining the osmotic pressure of the blood and transporting various substances in the bloodstream. In clinical practice, albumin is often used as a treatment for a variety of conditions, including those you mentioned.
Our ProAlb can be used to treat hypoalbuminemia, which is widespread in individuals with liver cirrhosis, and restore circulatory volume in these patients. Moreover, it may be used to treat the side effects of liver cirrhosis, including ascites (an accumulation of fluid in the abdomen), hepatic encephalopathy, and hepatorenal syndrome (kidney dysfunction due to liver disease).
NEUROLOGY
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a rare autoimmune neurological disease in which the immune system attacks and damages the protective coating covering the nerves, causing weakness, pain, numbness, and tingling in the arms and legs, as well as loss of balance that may impair the ability to walk.
One of the therapies recommended for the management of CIDP is our ProGlob. Although the exact mechanism of how antibodies work in CIDP is uncertain, it is believed that they bind to and neutralize the autoantibodies that attack the myelin sheath of the nerves
